Hello there! My name is Anaya Parker, and I’m a journalism major with an emphasis in digital broadcasting. I’m a passionate actor, writer, and reader. I chose journalism because it allows me to share people’s stories and make a positive impact. I’ve been writing since I was a kid, and my mom is an author, so I guess you could say writing is in my DNA!
I’ve grown up in Collegedale for most of my life with my mom, dad, two brothers, my sister, and, most importantly, my cat. I’m thrilled to be part of this project, as I’ve witnessed Collegedale’s remarkable transformation over the years. Since my family moved here in 2007, this city has blossomed and grown exponentially. It holds a special place in my heart, and I’m eager to share its rich history.
I hope to address questions about how the growth of Collegedale has affected those living here. How do locals feel about the growing population? How have businesses adapted to meet the needs of the incoming residents? How is the housing market affecting those moving to Collegedale? By answering these and other questions, I can gain a deeper understanding of Collegedale and who we are.
